PIN BACK BUTTON MAKING 

In this class participants will be educated about the machine that they will use to make the pin back buttons and where it can be purchased; participants will also be show the process from printing out their design cutting it out to size and the process of making the pin back button. This class is 3 hours in length. 


This fastening mechanism is anchored to the back side of a button-shaped metal disk, either flat or concave, which leaves an area on the front of the button to carry an image or printed message

LINO BLOCK PRINTING

In this class participant will be shown example of Lino blocks that have been pre made and how to carve into the Lino block itself and how to print of fabric and paper.


Participants will be given the materials to make there own Lino block print the class duration is 3 hours.


What Is LinoCut?

Linocut, also known as lino printlino printing or linoleum art, is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum (sometimes mounted on a wooden block) is used for a reliefsurface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed.

POLYMER CLAY - JEWELLERY MAKING 

Polymer Clay - Jewellery Making 


In this class participants will find out what polymer clay is and how it can be used to make into jewelry; participants will be given the supplies to make both earrings and a necklace. The duration of this class is 3 hours. 



What is polymer clay?


Polymer clay is a type of hardenable modeling clay based on the polymer polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It typically contains no clay minerals, but like mineral clay a liquid is added to dry particles until it achieves gel-like working properties, and similarly, the part is put into an oven to harden, hence its colloquial designation as clay.[1] Polymer clay is generally used for making arts and craft items, and is also used in commercial applications to make decorative parts. Art made from polymer clay can now be found in major museums.

SEWING 101

In this class participants will will create a sample that incorporates the basic sewing skills that includes:

- How to thread a sewing machine. 

- How to change stitching.

- How to sew fabric together on a 1/2inch seam allowance.

- How to press open seams.

- How to Top, and Edge Stitch. 

- How Hem.

- How to Serge.

- How to properly Sew a 2 Hole and 4 Hole button.


Participants will be given the supplies needed to complete all the sewing skills, the class duration is 3 hours.


What is sewing? 

Sewing is the craft of fastening or attaching objects using stitches made with a sewing needle and thread. Sewing is one of the oldest of the textile arts, arising in the Paleolithic era.

EMBROIDERY 

In this class participants will be taught about the 7 stitches they will learn during the class such as Running Stitch, Stem Stitch, Back Stitch, Split Stitch, Chain Stitch, Blanket Stitch, and French Knot.


Participants will be given the supplies needed to complete the 7 stitches they will learn, the class duration is 3 hours 


What is Embroidery?

Embroidery is the craft of decorating fabric or other materials using a needle to apply thread or yarn. Embroidery may also incorporate other materials such as pearls, beads, quills, and sequins.

OBJECT CASTING 

In this class participants will be shown a tutorial of how to casting an object using clay and plaster, participants will be given the supplies need to cast from an array of object or bring there of to cast into a piece of art that can hang on their wall. This class duration is 4 hours.


What is casting?

Casting is a manufacturing process in which a liquid material is usually poured into a mold, which contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to solidify. The solidified part is also known as a casting, which is ejected or broken out of the mold to complete the process. Casting materials are usually metals or various time setting materials that cure after mixing two or more components together; examples are epoxyconcreteplaster and clay

COLOUR WHEELS 

In this class participants will learn about the Colour wheel and the variety of colours in them and how to mix primary, secondary and tertiary colours together; participant will be provided the materials need to make their own colour wheel, this class has a duration of 2 hours.


What is a Colour Wheel?


color wheel or color circle[1] is an abstract illustrative organization of color hues around a circle, which shows the relationships between primary colorssecondary colorstertiary colors etc.

FASHION SHOWS

Are you a non-Profit, Charity, that would like to put on a fashion show with no stress but raise money? Look no further as or project lead has creates their own fashion and connections to models and vines can put together a fashion show to help you fundraise!!! Contact for further information!


What is a fashion show? 


In a typical fashion show, models walk the catwalk dressed in the clothing created by the designer. Clothing is illuminated on the catwalk using lighting and special effects. The order in which each model walks out, wearing a specific outfit, is usually planned in accordance with the statement that the designer wants to make about their collection.

RE-USABLE BAGS

In this class participants will be educated on the basic steps of how to thread the sewing machine, cut out fabric, pin and sew a straight line in order to make their own re usable Bag.


Participant will be provided with an array of fabrics to choose from and materials needed to make there own re-usable Bag. 


What is a re-usable Bag?

reusable shopping bag, sometimes called a bag for life in the UK, is a type of shopping bag which can be reused many times, in contrast to single-use paper or plastic shopping bags. It is often a tote bag made from fabric such as canvas, natural fibres such as jute, woven synthetic fibers, or a thick plastic that is more durable than disposable plastic bags, allowing multiple use.

PILLOWS 

In this class participants will be educated on the basic steps of how to thread the sewing machine, cut out fabric, pin and sew a straight line in order to make their own pillow.


Participant will be provided with an array of fabrics to choose from and materials needed to make there own pillow. 


What is a pillow?

pillow is a support of the body at rest for comfort, therapy, or decoration. Pillows are used in different variations by many species, including humans. Some types of pillows include throw pillows, body pillows, decorative pillows, and many more.

TIE-DYE 

In this class participants will learn the difference between synthetic and non synthetic dye and the differences of process and processing times; participants will also learn how to tie Dye there very own shirt.


Participants will be provided with the materials needed to tie dye there own shirt, the duration of this class is 3 hours.


What is Tie Dying?

Tie-dye is a term used to describe a number of resist dyeing techniques and the resulting dyed products of these processes. The process of tie-dye typically consists of folding, twisting, pleating, or crumpling fabric or a garment, before binding with string or rubber bands, followed by the application of dye or dyes.[1] The manipulations of the fabric before the application of dye are called resists, as they partially or completely prevent ('resist') the applied dye from coloring the fabric.
